National Jewish Theater Foundation President and Producing Artistic Director Arnold Mittelman has announced the organization will host an invitation-only conference in 2012 to help advance its Holocaust Theater Archive and web site. The Foundation has received a $60,000 grant from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation which, in part, will support the international conference that will be held in South Florida. Participants will be selected from Holocaust leaders in the field, scholars, educators, artists, funders and survivors. The conference will also include the involvement of the USC Shoah Foundation Institute and worldwide museums, memorials and theaters.

The Luxury Chamber had a spectacular event at the new “V” in Boca with Frank McKinney, Burt Olivia and Chad Everett putting on a fantastic opening of his new venue.
Delray Acura and Delray Hyundai signed on as sponsors for FAU’s new stadium. .The car dealership, led by Jim O’Neill, donated $700,000 to the university and received the naming rights to two club levels.
North American Development Group has paid $18.5 million for the Palms Plaza shopping center.
State Rep. Bill Hager, R-Boca Raton, is being honored as freshman of the year in the Florida House of Representatives by the American Cancer Society.
J.C. Perrin, chair of the Golden Bell Education Foundation, dedicated to funding education, awarded $50,000 worth of grants to Boca Raton schools.
All news and talk programming on the new WPBI will be expanded and shifted to 101.9 FM and classical music will be played around the clock on 90.7 FM. The all-news station will be branded 101.9 WPBI News and the all-music 90.7 will continue to be marketed as Classical South Florida.
FAU just keeps getting bigger. Enrollment figures for fall 2011 show that there are more than 29,400 students at the university, up 4 percent from last year. Freshmen enrollment is at 3,300 up 21 percent from 2010.

The county Zoning Commission on Thursday voted 4-3 to deny a plan by the Siemens group and to designate the land for residential development to build 291 homes and townhomes on the former Mizner Trail golf course in Boca Del Mar, Hopefully the County Commission will approve it for the needed jobs in the area and increased property values.
Wells Fargo filed a foreclosure action against the Hilton Garden Inn at Congress and I-95.
Boca Helping Hands will distribute bags of groceries to eligible people starting Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday at Boca Glades Baptist Church.

Five synagogues, five churches, the Islamic Center of Boca Raton and the South Florida Zen Group are joining together for a "Service of Memory, Reflection and Renewal," at 7:30 p.m. at Temple Beth El, 333 SW Fourth Ave., in the city. Joining Beth El and B'nai Torah Congregation, which organized the service, are Congregation B'nai Israel, Beth Ami Congregation and Congregation Shaarei Kodesh, and the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County's Jewish Community Relations Council.
