Walgreen Co. has signed a definitive merger agreement to acquire the online retailer Drugstore.com for an enterprise value of about $409 million. The acquisition will allow Walgreens already one of the nation's largest drugstore retailers, to expand its online presence, including adding 60,000 new products to the company’s existing online offering, The deal closes in June.
Katy Couric, the CBS Evening News anchor is very likely to leave her seat in June, and Scott Pelley is a top contender to replace her—but CBS is looking to give her a daytime talk show host and a slot on 60 Minutes.,

Citing an increased work load from his other public relations clients, West Boca Chamber of Commerce founder and president has resigned effective March 31. County Commissioner Steven Abrams, who is chairman of the Palm Beach Broadband Coalition, announced that the Commissioners approved the donation of about 30 percent of all future surplus county computers to low-income families countywide. To date, over 100 computers have been donated.

The Florida Atlantic University Student Alumni Association (SAA) is working to help fund the University's new on-campus stadium by selling personalized bricks. The bricks, which may be engraved with an individual's name, an organization's name or a special message, will be placed in a sidewalk leading into the stadium. Stadium bricks are available in two sizes, 8 inches by 4 inches with 60 character spaces for personalization, and 8 inches by 8 inches with 120 character spaces. The 8-by-4 brick is available for $75 and the 8-by-8 brick is $125. All campaign supporters receive 1-by-3 or 3-by-3 inch replicas of their personalized bricks and a portion of the payment is tax deductible. The stadium fund receives $35 for each 8-by-4 inch brick purchased and $73 for each 8-by-8 inch brick purchased. The SAA also receives a percentage of profits. The first batch of bricks will be ordered in early June with expected delivery by early September. Bricks purchased after June 1 may not be placed until after the stadium has opened. Bricks will be available for purchase at the FAU spring football game on April 23 and can be purchased online anytime at http://fauf.fau.edu/brickcampaign.
