Boca Raton Regional Hospital has been accused by a former employee of defrauding Medicare of two million dollars in a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court.

The Boca Del Mar Improvement Association will hold its first contested election in 40 years January.
Republican candidates Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich and Michele Bachmann will speak at a political event held by the David Horowitz Freedom Center at The Breakers in Palm Beach this weekend.
Sponsors of the bill that would allow for three mega-casinos are considering putting the state lottery under the control of a new statewide gaming commission. Republican state legislators pushing for new casinos in South Florida say they want to rein in the Florida Lottery. Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff of Fort Lauderdale is one of the sponsors of the bill that would allow for three mega-casinos. She says she plans to change her bill so that the state lottery would be under the control of a new statewide gaming commission.

County tax payers got sticker shock when they found their tax bills had increased despite decreased property values due to sleight of hand manipulation of millage rates by some governments.
