       The Turnpike interchange at Glades Road will be improved with widening of lanes on Glades Road and exit lanes from the Turnpike to Glades Road.
      ADT, a spinoff from Tyco International, said it will add another 120 jobs in addition to the 600 new employees at its Boca Raton corporate headquarters.
     Boca Raton Regional Hospital reported a $10.1 million loss for its fiscal year ended on June 30, followed by a $1.4 million loss for its fiscal first quarter.

     Troubled Spanish bank Bankia may sell Miami-based City National Bank of Florida in order to secure bailout funds from European governments.
     Since 2006, banks have repossessed 450,000 Florida homes and housing inventory has plunged 68% in the past four years. 108,000 homes were on the market on Thanksgiving of 2008 but only 34,000 have hit the sales block this Thanksgiving in the tri-county area due to strong investor buying, banks holding off on foreclosed properties and sellers who want to sell, but are stuck because they are underwater on their mortgage loans.

     Boca Raton based Office Depot, with 110 employees in Boca, lost $70 million in the last quarter and announced plans to downsize or relocate 50% of stores worldwide, and may merge with Office Max. They also bailed out on a $10 million sponsorship of a NASCAR race car. 
     Boca Raton based time-share resort business Bluegreen Corporation received a $10/share offer from BFC Financial Corp, former BankAtlantic owners.
     Baja Beach Club which opened Oct. 5 at Palmetto and Powerline Roads, has closed after a month of operations. No word yet on what will open there.
     Former FAU student Donald R. French, 25, was charged with running a $10 million Ponzi scheme that bilked about 50 victims who lost $1.3 million.
     There are 190,000 Palm Beach County, up 14%,  and 1.1 million South Florida residents, one third of Florida, on Food Stamps and 17,000 more in October.
