    The number of foreclosed homes in South Florida not for sale, known as the Shadow Inventory is soaring with 26,000 listed in Palm Beach County alone in the first quarter, up 78% from last year. Lenders are reluctant to release them as they don’t want a hit on the distressed property value, plus they abort rehabbing the home when they put it up for sale.
