    Electric car maker Tesla plans to open a showroom inside the Town Center Mall with cars outside for shoppers to test drive by appointment only.
 Florida Atlantic University opened Parliament Hall, a new 614 bed seven story residence for freshmen students on the Boca Raton campus.
  Boca Raton and Eagles Landing middle schools are among 30 that have re-upped for the Anti-Defamation League's No Place for Hate programs.

   The Office Depot Foundation is starting a $1 million anti-bullying campaign throughout U.S. middle schools.
   South Florida and state lobbyists pocketed $120 million in fees so far this year to influence state lawmakers. Palm Beach County shelled out $120,000 and the Sheriff spent $220,000 in lobbying fees. Big Sugar's Florida Crystal and US Sugar layed out $875,000 to sway lawmakers on environmental issues.
  Forbes Magazine reported that the Miami Dolphins had an operating income of $24.8 million with $268 million in gross revenue last year despite lousy attendance and four straight losing seasons. The Dolphins value was again $1 billion with the Dallas Cowboys topping the list at over $2 billion value.
   A record 23.4 million tourists visited Florida, with 8 million to South Florida in the second quarter, up 3 % from last year, 3 million internationally.
   Unless Congress acts, 4,800 Palm Beach County water front and lake front property owners flood insurance rates will increase 25%.
   FAU will be offering a "Stand your ground" self-defense law course in the Fall semester of the FAU School of Public Administration in Boca Raton.
